Explanation

The amendment appropriates $176, 784 to the Office of Workforce Competitiveness (OWC) in FY 09 for planning and programming support to the Adult Literacy Board.

The amendment also provides that any funds appropriated to OWC in PA 07-1 that are not expended by June 30, 2008 shall not lapse and shall be available in FY 09. It is estimated that approximately $1.5 million would be available for expenditure in FY 09.
