POTENTIAL COST

The amendment requires that all contracts put out to bid by the state must contain a reciprocal preference provision that increases by an equal percent the bid price submitted by non-resident bidders located in states with bidder preference statutes.

This amendment may increase the cost of state contracts to the degree that it increases the bid price by non-resident contractors who would otherwise have been the low bidder.
