              SPECIAL ACT NO. 90-32
AN  ACT  CONCERNING  THE  WORLD  WAR  II VETERANS'
MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN MERIDEN  AND  VALIDATING  THE
GRAND  LIST  FOR  MERIDEN  FOR THE ASSESSMENT YEAR
COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 1989.
    Section 1.   Notwithstanding  any provision of
the general statutes, any public or special act or
any rule of law to the contrary,  The World War II
Veterans'  Memorial Hospital in Meriden shall  not
be deemed  to  be  dedicated  to  the  public use,
devoted  for public purposes or otherwise held  in
trust for any public use  or purpose in connection
with  any  sale,  conveyance or transfer  of  said
hospital,  without  restriction  on  the  terms or
conditions of such sale, conveyance or transfer.
    Sec. 2. Section 2 of number 439 of the special
acts of 1951 is amended to read as follows:
    [Said] FOR AS LONG AS  SAID  HOSPITAL IS OWNED
BY  THE  CITY OF MERIDEN, SAID hospital  shall  be
known as  The  World  War  II  Veterans'  Memorial
Hospital in memory of all its residents who served
in the United States armed forces in World War II,
and particularly to those who gave their lives for
their country in said  war, [and shall be owned by
the  city  of Meriden] and shall be managed  by  a
board of trustees  composed  of not more than five
members, and there shall be an advisory  committee
composed of not  more  than  thirty  members, such
board  of  trustees and advisory committee  to  be
appointed by the court  of  common council of said
city.
    Sec.  3.  Notwithstanding that the assessor of
the town and city of Meriden has omitted to timely
make  and  complete a proper grand list  following
revaluation of all property  in said town and city
for  the  assessment year  commencing  October  1,
1989, as required by law, such assessment list and
the  votes  imposing taxes thereon shall not,  for
any such cause, be adjudged void or defective, but
the  same are ratified and made binding upon  said
municipality, and any clerical omission or mistake
which  has  been made on said list,  may,  at  any
time, be corrected  by  the  assessors or board of
tax  review; and all taxes which have been or will
be laid and imposed  according  to  the assessment
list  specified in this section may be levied  and
collected.
