You asked for a copy of the domestic violence laws in New York and New Jersey, as well as the New England States.
Enclosed is a copy of: (1) the domestic violence laws in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont; (2) OLR reports 94-R-0697 and 94-R-0598 which discuss Connecticut's law; (3) State Codes on Domestic Violence by Barbara Hart which compares state codes on domestic violence; and (4) a model code on domestic violence produced by the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.
